Pylasteki

Pylasteki is a 1961 Pearson Triton sailboat. She is one of my personal project boats... I am rebuilding her as a blue water cruiser.

Welcome

Hi, I'm Zach.

This is my blog, it is about my sailboat. She is a 28 foot, 1961 Pearson Triton, I'm refitting her to go cruising! Her name is Pylasteki, pronounced "Pla-sticky" as far as how she earned the name, I'm not sure. Its unique and suits a plastic boat well, though it is hard to spell!

Hi! I own Pearson Triton #236, Ca Ira, in Annapolis, MD. I'm a member of the Chesapeake Bay Triton Fleet. Pylasteki's last owner used to race with us. Our webpage is cbtf.info if you want to check it out. It's great to hear that the boat has journeyed so far! A lot of us have a lot of knowledge of Tritons, so if you have any questions while you are rebuilding her, feel free to ask! If you're ever back up in Annapolis, we'd love to have another Triton to race or cruise with. My email address is albatross8@hotmail.com. Hope to hear from you!

I raced on Triton 101 Pylasteki from the mid 80's till Leb and Scottie Brown sold the boat to Jim Schwartz in the late 90's. I'm sorry, I can't tell you much more than how to sail her. Leb used to have a guy named Klous work on the engine here in Annapolis and he had the boat worked on at a boatyard in Back Creek. I have great memories of lots of races we won on Pylasteki (Plastic and Teak).

Good to see this, Zack! I raced many a race against Pylasteki in the Annapolis area.
If you are not familiar with it already, here is a link to the "MIR" (Maintenance, Improvement, repair) site for Tritons.
http://tritonclass.org/mir/
Some of this material is old and out of date, but there is much good info, and thousands of years of experience here for you to tap in to.
Feel free to email me at dhoyt(at)toadmail(dot)com with a question.

Good for you, Zach. I'll be checking in on your project. Sort of new to sailing myself - bought a '69 Paceship Westwind last year and been teaching myself in Cape May Harbor. I see you've already got some old Pylasteki fans ringing in. Keep going.
